More\u0161ka<\/strong> is a chivalrous sword dance with elements of drama. It used to be performed all over the Mediterranean but today it can only be seen in Kor\u010dula<\/strong> where, according to historic documents, it has been fought at least since 1666<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Its plot is based on a story much like the one of the Trojan War \u2013 there is a difference though \u2013 in More\u0161ka, the main protagonists are named Osman<\/strong>, Moro<\/strong> and Bula<\/strong>. More\u0161ka is a living monument to the tumultuous Mediterranean history and cosmopolitan spirit.<\/p>\n

Today, More\u0161ka has a status of protected cultural heritage<\/strong>, just like the city of Kor\u010dula, where More\u0161ka is preserved. During the last 350 years<\/strong> it came to be an inseparable part of city’s identity as well as being its binder and symbol.<\/p>\n

In fact, as you can see in the geolocational historic map<\/strong> of Moreskants (drawn based on their address and role), almost all the families in Kor\u010dula at one point participated in More\u0161ka.<\/p>\n

Wouldn’t you say that Kor\u010dula’s shape looks like a More\u0161kant?<\/p>\n
